The 1898 delightful work by Victor Herbert brought back to life.

Victor Herbert's exotic 1898 three-act operetta score abounds with Hussar marches, gypsy love songs, comic numbers, romantic duets and brilliant finales. The eighth of more than 50 Herbert stage works, The Fortune Teller was presented in London in 1901 with its star from New York, Alice Nielsen. The cast, orchestra and chorus of the Ohio Light Opera bring this delightful work back to life.
Contents:
Victor Herbert, composer
The Fortune Teller
Cast, Chorus and Orchestra of the Ohio Light Opera, Steven Byess, conductor

Review:
"...[Ohio Light Opera] makes a strong argument for giving the long ignored Fortune Teller a second look. ...Conductor Steven Byess judiciously mines the charms of Herbert's unjustly neglected score while eliminating the treacle." (Opera News)
