Along with his brother, the symphonist Adolfs Skulte (1909-2000), Bruno Skulte represented a bridge between the Romantic era and the blooming of modern Latvian music. After arriving in the U.S. in 1949 he devoted his energies to Latvian music festivals and choir directing. This nationalistic opera was one of his crowning achievements, and we are proud to present this first recording.Contents:
