Paul Chihara Named Director of Artistic Planning for 2014 Beijing International Film Festival!

Published on May 8th, 2014

The Beijing International Film Music Festival, sponsored by the Central Conservatory of Music of China, have asked American composer Paul Chihara to be the Director of Artistic Planning for this year’s international activities from Dec. 10 to 14, 2014.  The activities will take place mainly at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing —  with film makers, composers, performers, teachers and students from many countries participating.   This will be Mr. Chihara’s second major project in China, having been commissioned by the Chinese Cultural Ministry two years ago to compose a full evening’s orchestral/electronic score for the extravagant theatrical spectacle YULAN, produced by the Dalian Theatrical Troupe — which was a huge success in both China and in California.

The Principal Designer of this Festival is Ms. JiaoJiao Zhou, a music teacher at the Central Conservatory and a fine film composer, who studied with me for one year at UCLA in 2011.
